Privacy
Your data, in plain terms.
The same promise as everywhere else on this site: if we can't explain it simply, we don't do it. Here's everything this website knows about you.

Who we are
Crafend is a software house run by its two founders. For anything in this policy, write to build@crafend.com — the people who built this site are the ones who answer. Our full company details are on the imprint.
What you send us
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive what you choose to share: your name, email address, company if you give one, and your message. We use it for exactly one thing — replying to you and scoping your project. We don't add you to marketing lists, we don't send drip campaigns, and we never sell or share your details. We keep the conversation for as long as we're working together or might, then it's gone on request.
Sending the form also checks that you're a person, not a script. That check sees your IP address, as every server on the internet does — we never store it: it's turned into a one-way fingerprint that lets us count submissions per hour and nothing else, and that counter is thrown away after an hour. Your message itself is only ever emailed to us.
How we count visits
Two tools, with an honest difference between them:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — always on. It's cookieless: it counts page views in aggregate without cookies, fingerprinting, or profiles of any kind. It can't follow you, so it doesn't ask.
- Google Analytics 4 — only if you allow it in the cookie notice. It sets cookies to tell returning visits apart, which helps us see what's worth improving. Google processes this data on our behalf; we've configured it without advertising features. Say no and it never loads — the site works identically either way.
Cookies and what's stored in your browser
| Name | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics — tells returning visits apart. Only set if you allow analytics. | Up to 2 years |
| cf-consent | Remembers your cookie choice so we ask once, not every visit. | Until you clear it |
Third parties this site talks to
Fewer than most sites: the fonts and scripts every page needs are served from this domain, not from a font service or a CDN, so reading the site tells no third party you were here. It is hosted on Cloudflare, whose servers see your IP address to deliver the files, as any host would. Analytics goes to Cloudflare (always, cookieless) and to Google (only with your consent).
The contact page is the one exception, and only that page: it usesCloudflare Turnstile to keep out bots and spam. It sets no cookies here, and most visitors never see it — it only runs when you press send. Apart from it, the only third-party scripts are the two analytics ones above: Cloudflare's cookieless one, and Google's, which loads only if you allow it.
The legal part
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply: analytics cookies run on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Replying to your messages and keeping the site secure run on legitimate interest. You have the right to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted — email us and it happens. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, though we'd rather you tell us first.
Change your mind
Your current choice applies until you change it. One click re-opens the question:
When this changes
If we start collecting something new, this page changes first and the date above moves. We won't quietly widen what we collect.
